Thirty-seven Elon Law students initiated into William Hooper Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta

Elon Law's William Hooper chapter of the professional law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta initiated a second class of 37 members on September 24, bringing total membership in the chapter to 61. The chapter was founded in March of 2009.

Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International is the largest co-ed professional law fraternity in the United States. It was founded in 1902 and today has over 270,000 initiated members. The fraternity’s membership includes university students, law school students, lawyers, judges, senators, and former United States presidents. Approximately one out of six attorneys in the United States are members of Phi Alpha Delta.

New members of Elon Law’s William Hooper chapter took an oath during the September 24 initiation ceremony to support the purpose of the fraternity, “to advance the ideals of liberty and equal justice under law; to stimulate excellence in scholarship; to inspire the virtues of compassion and courage; to foster integrity and professional competence; to promote the welfare of its members; and to encourage their moral, intellectual, and cultural advancement; so that each member may enjoy a lifetime of honorable professional and public service.”
