Various events to celebrate First Amendment Day – Sept. 29

The Liberty Tree Campus Initiative grant encourages universities to develop thought-provoking programs and invite nationally renowned speakers to help raise awareness of fundamental First Amendment freedoms on America’s college campuses.

Tuesday, September 29, Elon University has events planned to demonstrate a Celebration of the First Amendment. Following College Coffee, there will be a panel discussion of 21st Century Challenges to the First Amendment at 2 p.m. in Whitley Auditorium. At 7:30, there will be a 90-minute video and storytelling presentation about Adventures in Illegal Art, held in Yeager auditorium.

There will also be a First Amendment Board in front of McEwen and a Stand Up and Speak Zone on Moseley West Lawn from 10:30 until 2.
