Sarah E. Galliher, a senior biology major from Bristol, Tenn., published an article titled “Effects of beech bark disease on regeneration of high-elevation beech forests in Great Smoky Mountains National Park” in the Winter 2009 edition of Wildflower, the journal of the North Carolina Native Plant Society.
Galliher received a Tom and Bruce Shinn grant from the society to assist her in conducting this research with assistant professor of biology David Vandermast.
