Elon University Camerata, Chorale and Festival Orchestra Masterwork Concert
McCrary Theatre, April 29 at 7:30 p.m.
The Elon University Camerata, directed by Stephen Futrell, the University Chorale and the Festival Orchestra directed by Gerald Knight, will combine to present “Cantique de Jean Racine” and “Requiem” – two of the most well known chorale works by the French composer Gabriel Faure. Matthew DiCamillo will perform the baritone solo for the “Requiem.” The music is demonstrative of the beautiful melodic style and the rich and sonorous harmonic writing so characteristic of Faure.
