RecycleMania 2010 results – Week 4

After the fourth week of RecycleMania 2010, Elon continues to run ahead of last year's total in cumulative pounds of waste recycled (per capita) across campus. RecycleMania is a 10-week competition among campuses across the country to reduce waste and raise awareness about recycling.

Elon recycled 50,951 pounds of materials over the fourth week of this year’s competition.

Per Capita Classic

Overall, Elon placed 88th out of the 457 reported entries nationwide with a 8.72-pound per capita weight volume.

Targeted Materials: Aluminum/Plastic/Glass

Overall, Elon placed 9th out 290 entries for this category with a 4.24-pound per capita weight volume.

Targeted Materials: Cardboard

Overall, Elon placed 85th out of the 297 entries with a 2.61-pound per capita weight volume.

Targeted Materials Paper

Overall, Elon placed 128th out of 280 entries with a 1.87-pound per capita weight volume.
