David Noer, a professor emeritus in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, had an article headlined "Six Crucial Leadership Competencies for an Era of Downsizing" published in the spring edition of Leader to Leader.
Leader to Leader is a joint publication of the Leader to Leader Institute (part of the Peter Drucker Institute), and Jossey-Bass. Winner of the 2009 Apex award for publication excellence, Leader to Leader focuses on innovative leadership strategies for both the public and private sectors and is geared for top organizational leaders.
Noer’s article deals with the leadership competencies needed to maintain motivation, loyalty, and commitment, during a period of economic decline and organizational downsizing.
