“Beauregard and the “New” Dualism: An Emergentist Response” critiqued the conclusions of a recent book by neuroscientist Mario Beauregard and offered an alternate philosophical approach to the study of mind/brain relationships that is based on the work of the well-known theologian Philip Clayton.

Toward a Science of Consciousness is held annually and is considered the premier international academic conference in the field of consciousness studies.
