A taste of Elon in the Queen City

More than 50 alumni joined several faculty and staff April 20 for a mixer hosted by the Charlotte Alumni Chapter. President Leo M. Lambert and coaches Matt Matheny (men's basketball) and Pete Lembo (football) were among the Elon representatives making the trip down Interstate 85 to enjoy a beautiful evening, good food and great company on the patio at Sullivan's Steakhouse.

“It was great meeting the president, faculty and staff, and other local alumni,” says Aaron Chatkin ’86. “This is only the second Charlotte alumni event I have attended, and I look forward to the next one!”

President Lambert offered a quick update on the university, and Matheny and Lembo shared news about their respective Phoenix teams. Other Elon faculty and staff in attendance were Eugenia Leggett and Catherine Dunham of Elon Law, Tom Vecchione and Brett Woodard of Elon Career Services, John Keegan ’96 and Sarah Thomas ’05 of Elon Athletics, Lauren Kelly ’07 and Sallie Hutton ’92 of Alumni Relations, and Jim Piatt and Tait Arend ’96 of University Advancement.
