“The university completed a Climate Action Plan in spring 2010 that will guide its carbon emission reduction efforts. Construction is underway on a geothermal system, which will heat and cool five residence halls. The Sustainability Faculty Scholars program assists faculty with incorporating or enhancing a focus on sustainable principles and practices in their courses, and a new minor in environmental and sustainability studies was recently approved.”
Formally launched in 2006, AASHE is a registered nonprofit with colleges and universities from around the world represented in its rolls.
