Laurence N. Benz, president/CEO of PT Developlement LLC, delivered the commencement address to the 39 Elon DPT students who graduated from the university on Dec. 12, 2010.
Benz is the recipient of numerous business and physical therapy awards including the Kentucky Physical Therapy’s Outstanding Physical Therapists award and Ernst & Young’s Entrepeneur of the year for his region. He is creator of Evidence in Motion, a highly regarded education and business practice consultation company within the physical therapy profession.
In his speech, Benzn offered the graduates three bits of advice as they embark on their careers: Pass the “like-ability” test with clients, remember that your source of joy is in helping others, and “put your heroes in front of you” via photos and notes to remind yourself each day of the clients you help.
