Amy Stringer , assistant professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance, Katherine Jamieson, and Elon students Morgan Bailey, Michelle Pullen, and Jaclyn Wood, presented their research at the Southern District conference for the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Elon University has added Octagon to the list of campus composting locations, which also includes Colonnades and Harden Dining Halls. In 2009-2010 Elon diverted more than 100,000 pounds of waste from the landfill through food composting initiatives.

A team of Elon University researchers will examine the effects of concussions in student-athletes using a grant of nearly $17,000 awarded this month by the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

Elon University Director of Choral Activities Stephen A. Futrell appeared Feb. 19 as guest conductor of the Orange County High School Honor Choir.

A report authored by associate professor of psychology Mathew Gendle, Kim Glazer ’08, Liz Olszewski ’09 and University Wellness coordinator Cindy Novak has been published in the spring 2011 issue of the Journal of the North Carolina Academy of Science.
