Omri Shimron and student perform at UNC Greensboro’s Cello Celebration

Music major Josh Goldstein and Omri Shimron, assistant professor of music, participated in the University of North Carolina at Greensboro's Elizabeth Cowling Cello Celebration March 24-26. The three-day event celebrated the life and work of Elizabeth Cowling, who was a cellist, pedagogue, author and major contributor to UNCG's Silva Cello Music Library.

Goldstein, a student of Meaghan Skogen, an adjunct instructor of music at Elon, played in a master class for Brian Hodges (Boise State University) and was  accompanied by Shimron. In addition to the master class, Goldstein attended workshops and performed with the cello orchestra, which presented a concert on Sunday, March 27, in UNCG’s Recital Hall.
