Music Students and faculty participate in regional music conference

On April 1-2, three senior music majors participated in the National Association of Teachers of Singing mid-Atlantic regional conference and competition at Shennandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Va.

Anna Stephenson, Amanda Fish, and Josh Carswell advanced from the North Carolina competition in February and competed against other top students from Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Sharon LaRocco, staff pianist, accompanied Elon’s students.

Josh Carswell won prizes and honors from the Music Theatre and Classical Singing categories. He took second place in College Music Theatre Men and third place in College Senior Men.

Polly Cornelius, faculty advisor, adjudicated the Advanced High School Women Music Theatre category.
