Rissa Trachman, student Jana Murdock present at the 76th Annual SAA Meeting

Elon professor Rissa Trachman and Elon student Jana Murdock presented last week at an organized symposium of the 76th Annual Society for American Archaeology Meetings in Sacramento, Calif.

The symposium, “Ancient Maya Water and Land Management: Inquiry into the Organization of Community in the eastern Petén,” was held April 1. 

Trachman presented about her recent discovery of an ancient Maya spring fed water management system, while Murdock presented on her honors research concerning reconstructing ancient environmental impact by the Terminal Classic period Maya.
