Spring 2011: Alumnus’ film, ‘Brother’s Keeper,’ makes its debut

Cornelius Muller '93 was on hand April 30 at The Lamb's Chapel in Haw River, N.C., to enjoy the premiere of his film, "Brother's Keeper"' The film, which centers around a religious man whose brother commits a violent crime, starred in and produced the film. “The message of the movie is that you can forgive a person without excusing the act,” says Muller, who adds that while the film is based in Christian principles, it’s intended for all audiences. “It brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life.”

Students and staff at Elon played sginificant roles in the film as part of the production crew. Associate Provost Connie Book helped Muller coordinate Elon’s resources, and her husband, Dewayne Book, wrote the film’s original score. A local physician, the latter Dr. Book is studying music at Elon.
