Students honored at Senior Class Donor Reception

About 100 students gathered for the Senior Class Donor Reception hosted by President Leo M. Lambert at Maynard House on Monday, May 2. The president thanked seniors for making gifts to Elon this year and encouraged them to continue supporting their alma mater as alumni.

More than 230 seniors have made gifts to Elon this year and are now members of IGNITE, Elon’s young alumni giving program. This year was the first year that seniors were eligible to become student members of IGNITE by participating in the Senior Class Giving Campaign. About 20 percent of seniors have participated in this year’s annual giving drive, which ends May 31.

Stephanie White, chair of the Senior Class Giving Campaign Committee, and Michael Nowak, senior class president, offered remarks at the reception. In his remarks, President Lambert discussed the importance of annual support from students and alumni in keeping Elon moving forward. With more than 50 percent of Elon alumni under the age of 40, annual support from young graduates is critical to securing the university’s future.
