Frank Haith ’88 accepts head basketball coaching job at Missouri

After seven seasons as the head men's basketball coach at the University of Miami, Frank Haith '88 has been hired to the same position at the University of Missouri.

Haith takes over a Missouri Tigers team that in the past three seasons has won 77 games and made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.

Haith went 129-101 with the Hurricanes, including 21-15 this past season, when they earned a bid to the National Invitational Tournament. He led Miami to the NCAA Tournament in 2008, where the team lost in the second round. Before coaching at Miami, Haith spent three years as an assistant at the University of Texas, four years as an assistant at both Texas A&M and Wake Forest, and had stints at Penn State and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Haith graduated from Elon College in 1988 with a degree in physical education. He served as a student assistant coach for the Fightin’ Christian men’s basketball team for two years and worked as a part-time assistant after graduation while he taught at Western Alamance Middle School.
