Sam Burke ’89 selected for national Beta Alpha Psi award

Samuel L. Burke '89, a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers' national independence office, received the Beta Alpha Psi Business Information Professional of the Year Award this month at the annual Beta Alpha Psi meetings in Denver.

Burke, who serves on the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business Board of Advisors, was nominated by Elon’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, a national accounting, information systems and finance professional honors organization. He was chosen from a pool of nominations submitted by Beta Alpha Psi chapters nationwide.

In addition to Burke’s award, the Elon Beta Alpha Psi chapter was recognized as one of seven Gold Chapters and received a $2,000 award.

Burke graduated from Elon in 1989 with a degree in accounting. Before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2003, he served as associate chief accountant for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
