“Repairing a Mortgage Crisis:  HOLC Lending and its Impact on Local Housing Markets in the 1930s”
Presented by: Ken Snowden, University of North Carolina at Greensboro

Ken Snowden will examine the effect of the Home Owners’ Loan Corporation purchasing and refinancing of delinquent mortgages between 1933 and 1936 on home values and home ownership rates in 1940.  He will explain the extent to which lessons from the HOLC can be applied to the current mortgage crisis.  All are welcome.
