Air Force Concert Band to perform Veterans Day Program

Elon and the Times-News will host a Nov. 12 concert by the United States Air Force Heritage of America Concert Band.

Elon University and the (Burlington, N.C.) Times-News will host a concert by the United States Air Force Heritage of America Concert Band in McCrary Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m.

Though tickets for the show are now unavailable, those interested in the performance can visit the Center for the Arts prior to 6:45 p.m. for seats that go unclaimed.

The Concert Band features the diverse talents of 38 professional musicians whose commitment to excellence has earned worldwide acclaim and military distinction. Featuring a full rhythm section in addition to a wind ensemble, the Concert Band’s versatility entertains audiences with a variety of repertoire from Broadway to symphonic band, from jazz to patriotic marches.

Activated in 1941, The United States Air Force Heritage of America Band has a rich history of inspiring public patriotism and enhancing esprit de corps among all the U.S. military service branches. These world-class musicians are stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Va., and travel more than 30,000 miles each year, performing concerts for the public and providing music for military protocol events throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Under the leadership of Major Jeffrey B. Warner, the USAF Heritage of America Band remains at the forefront of preserving and enriching America’s military and musical heritage into the 21st century.
