Samantha DiRosa and Ken Hassell present at conference

Associate professors Samantha DiRosa and Ken Hassell of the Department of Art and Art History presented at the Association for Contemplative Mind in Higher Education national conference at Amherst College Nov. 11-13.

The panel, “At the Intersection of Art and Contemplative Practice,” explores issues surrounding interdisciplinary, contemporary art and contemplative practices while critically examining social and institutional assumptions about art and artmaking.

The Association for Contemplative Mind in Higher Education (ACMHE) is a multidisciplinary, not-for-profit, professional academic association with a membership of educators, scholars, and administrators in higher education. The ACMHE promotes the emergence of a broad culture of contemplation in the academy by connecting a network of leading institutions and academics committed to the recovery and development of the contemplative dimension of teaching, learning and knowing.
