Elon’s Ballroom Dance Team, Flight of the Phoenix, placed extremely well in the USA Dance 2012 National DanceSport Championships in Baltimore, Md.
This is the first time the Ballroom Dance Club has sent competitors to the national championship event.
Ned Dibner and Kaitlinn Brewer, Justin Pierce and Caroline Medley, and Adrian Pierce and Hillary Leslie ended up in 11th and a tie for 8th in the Adult Bronze Smooth Class (Waltz, Foxtrot) . In the Adult Bronze Rhythm Class (Cha Cha, Rumba) they finished in 11th, 13th and 8th positions. Everyone made it into the semifinals, and Adrian and Hillary were in the finals.
