Elon Law students elect new leadership

The student body at Elon Law recently elected a new slate of Student Bar Association (SBA) leaders for the 2012-13 academic year. Gwendolyn Lewis will serve as President.

Lewis said that the executive board of the SBA had identified four main areas of focus for the coming year.

“We will strive to be advocates for the student body, to be a resource to the students, to be a liaison between students and administration and to serve the student body.,” Lewis said. “We believe that the academic year 2012-2013 will be a year unlike any other.”

Lewis also thanked her colleagues for their support of her candidacy.

“Thank you for electing each and every one of us! I am so excited to serve as the second woman and first African-American Student Bar Association President at Elon Law,” Lewis said. “I am truly honored to have been elected and I know that in the coming year we will jointly produce and see many great things.”

The Elections Committee for the 2012-2013 academic year included: Katie Koone (Chair), John Warren, Sherea Burnett, Ben Kempton, Michael Koeltzow.
