Professional Sports Forum – Aug. 14

Elon Law will host a Professional Sports Forum for the second consecutive year. The evening’s events will begin at 5 p.m. with a live broadcast of the “Maginnes on Tap” PGA TOUR radio show with host John Maginnes. A panel discussion about the professional sports industry will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a reception in the Cemala Commons.

Panelists include:

Mark Russell, PGA TOUR Vice President for Rules and Competition and an Elon University alumnus. Since 1983, Russell has been a rules official for the PGA TOUR. He is the co-author of Golf Rules Plain and Simple.

Mac Barnhardt, CEO of Crown Sports Management, representing many PGA Tour professionals, such as 1997 PGA Championship winner Davis Love, 2009 US Open champion Lucas Glover and 2009 British Open champion Stewart Cink.

John Maginnes – former PGA TOUR player and current analyst on The Golf Channel; lead analyst on the PGA TOUR Network of Sirius Satellite Radio and host of “Maginnes on Tap,” which aires on Sirius 98 and XM 93.

The Panel will be moderated by David Maraghy, visiting professor of law at Elon and CEO, Sports Management International.
