Students celebrated on Friday afternoon the many cultures that make Elon an inclusive community during the 2012 Campus Fest jointly sponsored by the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life, the Multicultural Center, the Isabella Cannon International Centre, and El Centro de Español.

Various individuals, classes, and groups, gathered “to visualize, demonstrate, articulate, taste, and celebrate cultures on campus” with entertainment on stage, local food, crafts and education. More than 40 people or organizations registered to take part, including several area churches along with campus organizations.

Performances were made by Elon’s Finest, NPHC Step Showcase, Twisted Measure, West African Dance, the Gospel Choir, Latino dance, Vital Signs, Greek Music and Salsa Dance.

Truitt Center organizers said it was their hope that every student, faculty member and staff person would be able to make a connection and to recognize their own cultures at the fair.
