Amy “Michelle” LaRose of Haymarket, Va., has been elected to serve on the Elon University Board of Trustees. She began her service on the board at its fall meeting, Oct. 26-27.

LaRose is an attorney and the daughter of two Elon alumni. Her father, the late Robert E. LaRose, served as an Elon trustee from 1985 to 2006 and was later named a Life Trustee. Her mother, Gail H. LaRose, was a member of Elon’s National Alumni Executive Board from 1998 to 2001 and a member of Elon’s Board of Visitors from 2002 to 2011.

In 2011, Michelle LaRose and her brother Scott each made gifts to the university to establish the Gail H. LaRose Endowed Scholarship in honor of their mother. It was awarded as part of Elon’s Odyssey Scholarship program for the first time this fall to a deserving student planning to major in elementary education.

A graduate of the School of Law at the College of William and Mary, Michelle LaRose is a former trustee of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and St. Margaret’s School, a private secondary school for girls in Virginia. She is the mother of three children.
