Elon leaders among region’s “Most Influential People”

The Business Journal of the Triad showcased Elon President Leo M. Lambert, and six others with ties to the university, in a Nov. 16 special section.

The Business Journal of the Triad named Elon University President Leo M. Lambert among the area’s “most influential people” in a special section billed as “a look at the Triad’s brightest stars.”

It is the ninth edition of the list and the Business Journal names 110 leaders from the Piedmont region of North Carolina.

Lambert was praised for guiding Elon to several recent successes, including the conclusion of the Ever Elon fundraising campaign, the university’s reception of the title to its law school from the Joseph M. Bryan Foundation, the Global Neighborhood project and the launch of the new School of Health Sciences.

Also making the list were Louis Dejoy, an Elon University trustee and chairman & CEO of New Breed Logistics; Henry Frye, a member of the Elon Law advisory board and former chief justice of N.C. Supreme Court; Allen Gant, an Elon University trustee and chairman & CEO of Glen Raven Inc.; Bobby Long, an Elon University trustee and chairman of the Piedmont Triad Charitable Foundation; Fairfax Reynolds, a member of Elon’s Board of Visitors and the Alamance County market president for Vantage-South Bank; and Carole Bruce, a member of the Elon Law advisory board and partner with Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP.
