Elon Law Review hosts symposium on First Amendment jurisprudence

On October 26, the Elon Law Review presented a symposium examining First Amendment issues resulting from the interplay between religion and government.

The goals of the symposium were:

* to analyze how the legal landscape has changed due to recent legal decisions, legislation, and other governmental actions regarding the interplay between religion and the state;

* to examine the impact and future of pending issues involving the interaction of government and religion in the First Amendment context.

Scholars participating in the symposium represented the following law schools and institutions: Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, Capital University Law School, Duquesne University School of Law, University of California, Santa Barbara, University of Chicago Law School, Washington University School of Law, Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies, Knicely & Associates, P.C., Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, and the U.S. Department of Justice.
