Music theatre seniors audition for the industry’s top casting directors

With Commencement two months away, seniors in the university’s music theatre program have spent the last few weeks auditioning for and working with major casting directors and agents from New York City.

For the past four years, students have worked with Professor Catherine McNeela to raise money and then choose a line-up of top industry professionals, and then coordinate their visits to Elon.

This year, casting directors from Jay Binder Casting, Telsey + Company, Jim Carnahan Casting, Michael Cassara Casting, and Tara Ruben Casting, and agents from DGRW, Inc. Talent Agency, and Harden-Curtis Associates, have all made the trip down to North Carolina.

Elon’s program has chosen a process unique among major music theatre programs. It offers one-on-one interaction, giving students the opportunity to build stronger professional and personal relationships with people who will greatly impact their careers.

Countless Elon alumni ave signed with agents because of this, as well as booked jobs in regional theatre, national tours and Broadway.
