Wilson Times: Attorney general to referee records dispute with town

From The Wilson Times (11/11/2013): The N.C. Department of Justice and Office of the State Chief Information Officer will review complaints about the town charging more than $20 an hour for records requests that take more than 30 minutes to fulfill. 

In January the town of Middlesex adopted a fee scheduled that charges $21 to $26 per hour for all public records requests that take more than 30 minutes to fulfill, The Wilson Times reports. Town resident Brandie Holt described her frustration to the newspaper and said “This needs to be stopped.” The Attorney General’s Office has offerred to mediate any dispute between town residents and the town, The Wilson Times reports.
