The conference is a major forum for presentations and discussions of issues in the art world and draws presenters from all over the country.
Four Elon Art and Art History faculty participated in the Southeastern College Art Conference (SECAC) that ran Oct. 31st to Nov. 2. This year, the SECAC conference was particularly accessible in its location at the Koury Convention Center in nearby Greensboro.
Ann Kaplan chaired the session Perception Point: The Intersection of Neuroscience and Contemporary Art. She also presented a paper at that session entitled Moving Forward/Standing Still: Multiple Perspectives in Time-Based Arts.
Kirstin Ringelberg chaired an open Art and Art History session.
Ken Hassell chaired the session The Body Politic: Visuality and the Fabrication of Identity and also presented a paper at the session, entitled Window Dressing the Body.
Evan Gatti chaired a session on The Twelfth Century in Art and Thought.
