On November 22nd, 224 Elon students and faculty/staff participated in the 22nd Annual Turkey Trot.
Participants each donated two canned goods for Campus Kitchen, who will deliver all 450 cans to those in need in Alamance County.
Participants followed the Campus Rec Turkey as she led the runners in her turkey suit through the trail. For the first time ever Campus Rec partnered with Jones Racing company to provide participants with microchipped bibs, to accurately and quickly measure their times. There were four divisions in the race starting with Female Student, Male Student, Female Faculty/Staff, and Male Faculty Staff. The top three finishers in each division won a Turkey Trot Trophy, and a gift card to The Root, Dick’s Sporting Goods, or Lululemon. This year’s winners were Matt Perry clocking in at 18:00 for the Male Student category, Allison Forhan winning the Female Student Category with a winning time of 21:50, R.Tim Palmer with a time of 20:00 winning the Male Faculty/Staff category and Kathy Matera in the Female Faculty/Staff with a winning time of 23:06.
