From the Winston-Salem Journal (2/18/13): A case that started with the arrest of a 19-year-old Elon University student in 2010 for underage drinking and resisting an officer is forcing the N.C. Supreme Court to decide whether campus police at private colleges must be as transparent as their municipal law-enforcement peers.

From the Winston-Salem Journal (2/14/13): State legislators began debating Thursday whether there's a legitimate interest in the public having access to names, addresses and other identifying information of people purchasing pistols or who've obtained concealed weapons permits.

Elon University School of Communications junior broadcast journalism major Joe Bruno was awarded a John R. Bittner Scholarship from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas at the organization's annual student workshop Feb. 16 in Charlotte, N.C.

On February 9, Elon Law hosted the spring meeting of the ABA Fourth Circuit Law Student Division. Three Elon Law students contributed significantly to planning this event: David Lambert L'14, who served as a Lieutenant Governor of the Fourth Circuit Division in 2012 and was elected Governor of the Division at the spring meeting, Jenifer McCrea L’13, who served as Elon Law’s student representative to the ABA this year, and Bill White L’14, who served as Elon Law’s associate student representative to the ABA.
