Much recent attention, particularly in Europe, has been given to the question of “drawing research.” Penny sees his work and interests as being intrinsically bound up in this area. His current research is centered on the idea of “drawing with materials” – an interest that sources sculpture rather than painting to construct this area of work. Exhibition continues through March 11.
