American Studies Program and Sigma Phi Epsilon host inaugural 'Read-In' – April 5

The American Studies Program has partnered with Sigma Phi Epsilon to hold a group "Read-In" on April 5.

On Saturday, April 5, the American Studies Program and Sigma Phi Epsilon will team up for Elon’s first “American Classic. A Group Reading.” Students and faculty will meet at The Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity House, Loy Center N, and read together Chester Himes’ novel “If He Hollers Let Him Go.”

The reading will begin at 9 a.m. and finish whenever the last participant utters the last word of Himes’ 1945 classic. We’ll be using the 2002 DaCapo Press reprint edition, available on Amazon here. In addition, breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided throughout the event.

There are still open spots, and those interested must RSVP to Morgan D’Arcy (mdarcy@elon.edu) by Wednesday, April 2, at 5 p.m. Any questions can be directed to either Samuele Pardini (spardini@elon.edu) or Morgan D’Arcy (mdarcy@elon.edu)
