Kirsten Doehler presents at Carolinas Sports Analytics Conference

The assistant professor of statistics presented a talk, "The Gender Gap and the Two-Hour Mark in Major Marathon Races," at the Carolinas Sports Analytics Conference. 

Assistant Professor of Statistics Kirsten Doehler presented a talk titled “The Gender Gap and the Two-Hour Mark in Major Marathon Races” at the Carolinas Sports Analytics Conference held on April 12, 2014 at Furman University. The talk included information on a statistical analysis of women’s and men’s winning records from the five major world marathons (Boston, New York, Chicago, London and Berlin).  Analytical methods and results were compared to previous outcomes published in the literature related to marathon records.
