Emily DeMaioNewton, an incoming member of Elon's Class of 2018, appeared on WUNC's "Here & Now" to talk about her poetry.
DeMaioNewton was invited to the show as part of National Poetry Month. The Raleigh resident began writing poetry in middle school and won the 2013 Wake County Poetry Out Loud competition. As part of her appearance, DeMaioNewton read one of her compositions, “What I’ve Heard of Light.”
