Elon University partners with the Alamance Chamber of Commerce each summer to host the Alamance Youth Leadership Academy.
AYLA currently serves more than 100 7th and 8th grader students from 10 middle schools in Alamance County. The four-day program empowers youth with the skills necessary to formulate and execute a campus improvement plan at their school.
At the conclusion of the AYLA summer institute, middle school students present ideas for school improvement projects. The 2014 presentations take place Wednesday, June 18, at 10 a.m. in the Lakeside Meeting Rooms. All are welcome to attend these presentations!
Schools participating in AYLA include Blessed Sacrament, Broadview, Burlington Chrisitan Academy, The Burlington School, Clover Garden, Graham, Hawfields, Southern, Turrentine, and Woodlawn.
