The article titled, “Experiential education gaining ground in legal circles,” describes Dean Bierman as a national leader in the field of experiential education in law.
“My view is experiential education and classroom learning go hand-in-hand,” Bierman says in the article. “They should be fully integrated so it is seamless to students—students just learn how to be a lawyer. The teacher should offer different ways to learn that prepare students to become excellent, ethical lawyers.”
The article also features insights from speakers at a recent national symposium on experiential education in law held at Elon, including Alan Duncan, President of the North Carolina Bar Association, and William Henderson, Professor of Law, Van Nolan Faculty Fellow and Director of the Center on the Global Legal Profession at the Maurer School of Law, Indiana University at Bloomington.
