Department of Music faculty participate in North Carolina Music Teachers Association conference

Victoria Fischer Faw, Eden Esters Brown and Omri Shimron present, moderate and adjudicate at the annual meeting.

Three faculty members from the Department of Music took part Oct. 16-19, 2014, in the annual conference of the North Carolina Music Teachers Association conference at Methodist University.

Professor Victoria Fischer Faw, the organization’s Certification Chair, presented a session titled “MTNA National Certification Demystified.” Eden Esters Brown, instructor of piano and NCMTA Technology Chair, moderated a session titled “iPad Ideas for Motivation and Engagement”, which was delivered by Linda Christensen, a nationally recognized pedagogue.

Associate Professor Omri Shimron, who is the organization’s College Faculty Chair, moderated a panel discussion titled “Recruitment and Facilities in NC Collegiate Music Programs.” All three Elon faculty are members of the NCMTA Board of Directors.
