Sharon Meagher, 'Public Figures of Philosophy: An Imaginary Walking Tour' – April 16

Thursday, April 16
Sharon Meagher “Public Figures of Philosophy: An Imaginary Walking Tour”
Belk Pavilion 208, 7 p.m.

The Ferris E. Reynolds Lecture in Philosophy

In this talk, which Meagher imagines as a walking tour, the audience walks against the grain of philosophy, mapping a region of philosophical study (the city) that is usually ignored; and experimenting with alternative paths through the history of philosophy as a way of re-territorializing it. After a brief talk, the dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at Widener University will lead an audience effort to design monuments that locate philosophy in a city of the future.
