Poulson, Weller earn NCACPA Outstanding Conference Speaker award

The North Carolina Association of CPAs recognized accounting professors Linda Poulson and Paula Weller for their presentation, “Improving Student Writing Skills in Accounting.”

Linda Poulson, associate professor of accounting and chair of the Department of Accounting, and Paula Weller, senior lecturer in accounting, were honored with the North Carolina Association of CPAs (NCACPA) Outstanding Conference Speaker award during the association’s Recognition and Awards dinner on May 3.

The professors received the award for “Improving Student Writing Skills in Accounting,” which they presented during the 2015 NCACPA Accounting Education Forum Conference.

The Outstanding Conference Speaker Award is given annually to speakers who are North Carolina residents and who have taught at a conference, receiving an average score of at least 4.75 from participant evaluations.

The NCACPA has more than 14,000 members and strives to promote the competence, integrity, civic responsibility and success of North Carolina CPAs.
