New scoreboard, video & audio systems being installed at Rhodes Stadium

Elon is partnering with Daktronics and IMG College to upgrade the scoreboard system and provide endzone video displays.

Work is under way at Rhodes Stadium on the installation of a new main video display and audio system. The new equipment is the result of Elon’s partnership with Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) and IMG College.

“We are confident this upgrade at Rhodes Stadium will significantly improve the fan experience at Elon football games,” said Elon Director of Athletics Dave Blank. “This project would not be possible without IMG and we are thrilled to once again work with Daktronics, an industry leader. This improvement will provide Elon fans with a tremendous in-game experience for many years to come.”

The new LED video display is capable of showing one large image or it can be divided into multiple windows to show any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages. It measures 38-feet wide and 22-feet tall, which is larger than the previous video display at Rhodes Stadium, and will provide fans with higher quality and resolution of video and graphics.

“We’re excited to build upon our long standing relationship with Elon University,” said Corey Williams, sales representative at Daktronics. “These new displays and sound system will help take the game day experience at Rhodes Stadium to another level for Phoenix supporters.”

Additionally, the new and improved SS-2000HD sound system will enhance the game day experience by providing high speech intelligibility and clear, mid-range bass for music, audio in videos and public address announcements throughout Rhodes Stadium, as well as and an improved coverage pattern.

The new video display will remain on the north end of Rhodes Stadium near Alumni Field House. Additionally, two new 19-foot wide LED ribbon scoreboards will be added on the North and South end zone walls at field level at Rhodes Stadium.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
