Department of Psychology announces new developmental psychology position

The Department of Psychology is seeking applicants for a new assistant professor position specializing in developmental psychology.  

Developmental Psychology. Elon University seeks applicants for a continuing track position in Developmental Psychology at the assistant professor level beginning mid-August 2017.

Applicants should have completed or expect to complete a Ph.D. in Psychology, Human Development, or the equivalent by August 2017. Candidates should demonstrate strong interest in teaching at the undergraduate level. In addition to teaching core developmental courses (e.g., Lifespan & Early Childhood Development), candidates will be expected to develop courses in area of expertise relevant to developmental fields. Teaching responsibilities may also include Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, and courses in Elon’s General Studies program.

It is essential that candidates sustain a research program that includes the mentoring of undergraduate student researchers in the production of high-quality scholarship, with a preference for applicants whose research focuses on infant, child, and/or adolescent development. Elon employs a Teacher-Scholar model of faculty engagement. Faculty typically teach six courses per year, with occasional course release opportunities available to help support faculty scholarship, service, and professional development.
