Preeshl to serve as national delegate to the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio

Artemis Preeshl, a visiting professor in the Department of Performing Arts, will deliberate on 50 resolutions as a national delegate to the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio in Los Angeles from Oct. 5-8.

Artemis Preeshl, a visiting professor in the Department of Performing Arts, will attend the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio (SAG-AFTRA) as a National Delegate at the Sheraton Universal in Los Angeles from October 5-8, 2017.

Preeshl was first elected as a board member of the SAG-AFTRA New Orleans Local in 2013. In 2016, she served as chair of the SAG-AFTRA’s Wages and Working Conditions Committee.

Preeshl serves as founding chair of the New Orleans Local’s Conservatory Committee through which she coordinated meetings, presentations and information sessions. In 2017, Preeshl initiated the “Scene to Screen” program that offered the opportunity to New Orleans screenwriters to hear their scripts read by SAG-AFTRA actors. Scripts for the “Scene to Screen” program are under consideration in early 2018.

Having co-founded Actors Equity Association Liaison Committee New Orleans in 2009, she worked with her fellow Equity actors to increase weeks worked. This year, Preeshl teaches acting and dialects and co-directs the upcoming comedy Instant Laughter in Elon’s Department of Performing Arts.
