The short-term road closure will allow for water system work related to the construction of The Inn at Elon.
North O’Kelly Avenue between University Drive and Phoenix Drive will be closed Friday, Feb. 1, from 8:15 a.m. until 6 p.m. to allow for water system work.
The closure will allow for water lines for The Inn at Elon, now under construction, to be tied into existing water lines under the southbound lane of North O’Kelly Avenue. The work will not affect water service on campus. Following the water system work, the area will be backfilled with rock as a temporary measure until the weather is more favorable for asphalt patching.
