Elon Hillel and Chabad of Elon and Burlington invite members of the Elon community to gather in the garden at the Sklut Hillel Center at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 29, following the deadly shooting at a San Diego-area synagogue over the weekend.
A gunman entered the Chabad of Poway synagogue in the southern California city on Saturday, the final day of the Passover holiday and opened fire, killing one and injuring three. The shooting comes six months after a deadly shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh in which 11 people were killed.
Monday’s gathering will offer an opportunity to mourn those lost in these horrific shootings and to pray for peace.
