Family Weekend 2019: Campus filled with fun, Phoenix pride as thousands visit

2019 Family Weekend featured a nationally prominent speaker, a wide variety of activities on campus and off, and a packed Rhodes Stadium cheering on the Phoenix.


Elon welcomed thousands of family members to campus with open arms this past weekend, with siblings, parents, grandparents and other family members reconnecting with students during a wide variety of activities.

2019 Family Weekend featured Fall Convocation, which included an address by former S.C. governor and U.S. ambassador Nikki Haley, the Phoenix 4th Friday event in downtown Burlington and a packed Rhodes Stadium as the Phoenix took on James Madison University.

Throughout the weekend were opportunities to learn more about Elon, cultural event, such as Rockapella shows and Dancing in the Landscape performances, and a meet-and-greet session with Elon faculty.

Family members had the chance to see where their students live in a new event this year, the Neighborhood Social Hour, and learned more about Elon’s history during a Fireside Chat on Saturday.

Family Weekend had a wide variety of offerings for visitors of all ages.
