Although many students, faculty and staff are away from campus to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the campus community still gathered to continue a long-standing Elon tradition on Tuesday.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, K-12 public schools across the nation have stopped all in-classroom instruction, leaving educators to get creative so students can receive an education from home.

Archivist and University Librarian Randall Bowman recounts how the Spanish Flu pandemic impacted the Elon College campus in 1918, claiming the lives of three students.

Elon Counseling Services will continue to provide care to students in need as many members of the community are away from campus.
