Four new members elected to Elon University Board of Trustees

Selected to serve four-year terms on the Elon University Board of Trustees are Lance Berberian, Toni P. Brown P’20, Larry Clark P’19 and Debra Del Vecchio P’22, P’24. Their terms began Feb. 5, 2021.

The Elon University Board of Trustees has elected four new members to serve four-year terms. Lance Berberian, Toni P. Brown P’20, Larry Clark P’19 and Debra Del Vecchio P’22, P’24 began their service as trustees on Feb. 5, 2021.

Lance Berberian is executive vice president, chief information and technology officer for Burlington, N.C.-based LabCorp, one of the world’s largest clinical laboratories and a pioneer in genomic testing and the commercialization of new diagnostic technologies.

Berberian, who lives in Burlington, has been a member of Elon’s Engineering Advisory Board since September 2019. Prior to joining LabCorp in 2014, Berberian held roles at IDEXX Laboratories, Kellstrom Aerospace Defense, Interim Healthcare and Quest Diagnostics/Corning Clinical Laboratories.

Toni P. Brown P’20 of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, is chief administrative officer and disadvantaged business enterprise liaison officer at the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA), a regional transportation agency that serves as the steward of four bridges crossing the Delaware River between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  She also serves as chair of DRPA’s cross-functional COVID-19 Task Force.

An economist and lawyer, Brown joined the port authority in 1994 as manager of affirmative action and created the authority’s first nondiscrimination programs for disadvantaged, minority and women-owned businesses. Prior to joining the port authority she was assistant counsel to former New Jersey Gov. Jim Florio and worked as a litigation assistant for the law firm Hoyle, Morris & Kerr.

Brown and her husband, Michael, previously served as co-presidents of the Elon Parents Council. Brown’s daughter Rachel was a Leadership Fellow and Periclean Scholar at Elon who graduated in 2020 with a degree in strategic communications and media analytics. After graduation, she joined Mediahub Global in Winston-Salem, N.C., as an analyst following an internship with The Skimm in New York City.

Larry Clark P’19

Larry Clark P’19 is the former chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Legendary Entertainment, a film production company based in Burbank, California. He previously served as chief financial officer of Creative Artists Agency and senior vice president for Sony Pictures, with roles earlier in his career at Salomon Brothers, The Carlyle Group and Goldman Sachs.

Clark and his wife, Anne, live in Palos Verdes Estates, California, and are the parents of William and Elizabeth, who graduated from Elon in 2019 with a degree in psychology. While at Elon, Elizabeth participated in Women’s Club Soccer, Elonthon, the Elon Cooking Club, The Walk to End Alzheimer’s and Sigma Kappa sorority.

Larry and Anne Clark are members of the President’s Advisory Council and formerly served on the Parents Council.

Debra Del Vecchio P’22, P’24

Debra Del Vecchio P’22, P’24 of Oyster Bay, New York, served as principal at Brooks Brothers and manages the Del Vecchio Family Foundation with her husband, Claudio. She is a board member for the East Side House Settlement, a New York City-based social services organization, and was formerly board president for Friends Academy in Locust Valley, New York.

Debra and Claudio are the parents of Cristian ’22, who is majoring in entrepreneurship and is a member of the men’s golf team, and Angelica ’24, who is majoring in strategic communications and is a member of Tri Sigma sorority. The couple are members of the President’s Advisory Council and have been proud Elon ambassadors, hosting a reception for admitted students in their home.
